Day 10 sit - still no venison.

In the woods for an afternoon sit by 2:15. Sat till dark, no deer moving. Am I missing something here. I am thinking that they are all moving at night because I am seeing good tracks.

Afternoon Conditions:
Temp - 47 Degrees dead still and dry

Friday 11.16.2012 Recap

In the woods before first light this am and jumped a deer while approaching the stand...again.
Hopefully not a bruiser. Squirrels running like crazy again, No deer seen but tracks were around, left woods early to head to work.

Morning Conditions:
Temp - 36 Degrees still and dry

This is getting discouraging...but I am patient

Thursday 11.15.2012 Recap

Got out in the woods at 5:45, before light.

Came in super quietly but unfortunately jumped something - sounded small. 

Squirrels running around like crazy at first light

No Buck activity at all, left woods at 8:30 to head to work.

I plan to be back out tomorrow AM

Morning Conditions:

Temp - 34 Degrees windy and dry

Lots of deer, but no bucks yet!

Saturday 11.10.2012 Recap 

Got out in the woods at 5:45, before light.

Very quiet am except for all of the squirrels running around.

No activity until 8:30. Two does milling around to my left. They may have actually been bedded down all morning as I didn't see (or hear) them come in. No Buck activity left woods at 9:15

Morning Conditions:

Temp - 36 Degrees Still and dry 

Got back out in the woods at 2:00. Saw three does from the truck on the ride in to the hunting spot. Took very slow and quiet walk to the stand but jumped something (sounded small) right before I got the stand. I grunted a few times to try and conceal my identity. Same three does (I think) ran right up to my stand site and bedded down 30 yards from me at about 3:15. No bucks behind them. They left the area at dusk, Another doe walked through just before dark (un-pressured pace). Still no buck activity seen. (??)

Got out in the woods at 5:45, before light.

Still some snow left on the ground from Wednesday's storm.

Buck tracks and some doe tracks right at the base of my stand.

No deer activity at all.

Morning Conditions:

Temp - 38 Degrees Still and dry 

Still nothing - where is the rut?

Wednesday 11.07.2012 Recap

Got out in the woods at 5:40, well before light. No deer movement this AM. Sat only until 8:30 - work day. 

Pulled in a scent rag hoping to lure in an buck. No luck. I am planning to get back out there on Friday morning. It would be nice just to see a buck at this point.

Saturday 11.03.2012 Recap

Got out in the woods at 6:15, well before light. Had a deer come in behind me while still dark. No other action till about 9:00 when 3 does and two small yearlings came in at about 40 yards. They stayed for 20 minutes (not being pressured by and bucks), then left.

Back in the wood by 3:00. conditions were much windier and had no deer activity. Stayed till last light.
